There are a billion Earth-like planets and 100,000 intelligent civilizations in our Milky Way galaxy alone. For years, SETI scientists have been trying to detect signals from alien civilizations. If there really are more than 100,000 intelligent civilizations in our galaxy, and if at least some of them are transmitting radio signals or laser beams into space, shouldn't we have detected something by now?
